Really I'm still alive...and so are the kids!

For all who have asked...yes, I'm fine and still planning to blog! I've got quite a backlog of recipes and photos I haven't got around to posting. Like many moms around the country, I've become quite involved in politics for the first time. I suppose my being a pediatrician has also influenced this involvement as well. Needless to say, my computer skills are being put to use helping quite a few good candidates all over the country. My two favorites that are occupying the majority of my time are Justin Amash and Dr. Rob Steele,  on completely opposite sides of the state and I'm enjoying every minute of it!  We're down to 36 days and I'm looking forward to Nov. 2. I even took the day off, knowing I won't be able to focus on patient care!

The girls with Justin and all of us ready to walk with the Steele crew.

One super-big blessing in all this craziness, is little Jack has outgrown his wheat allergy. Or, I least I decided it was time to outgrow it. He's been scavenging crumbs off the floor for a while now to no ill effect, so I decided to jump in with both feet. (Disclaimer, don't do this at home...and don't tell our allergist!) He's a bit rashier now after re-introducing wheat , but that's better than the puking and wheezing that wheat used to bring on. I can deal with rashy. Now the kids can spaghetti and chicken nuggets and sandwiches all together, what a blessing. Sleep happens Nov. 3...so until then!

Jack loves his wheat!

That picture of Jack is one of my all time favorites of any kid! Hooray for mostly outgrowing wheat allergies! I'm glad one of the allergies cooperated with you.

Started following Justin Amash on Facebook and I love how he posts explanations of every vote. Thanks for helping to send him to DC! Off to try your Chocolate Cream Pie recipe. That's what my son requested for Thanksgiving dessert.

Amber, I'm thrilled to have Justin as my Congressman. He's going to do a fantastic job. I'm making the chocolate pie for Thanksgiving too!
